It is not uncommon for the owner, Mary T, to be there and stop by your table. If you're really lucky you may be able to meet Mary's mother, Margaret, who has her own signature cocktail and dessert.
We love the jazz music! Amazing performers and generally no cover. Fantastic! The food is wonderful and good wine list. I would give this a "4.5 Star rating" if I could though, because it is one of our most favorite restaurants but the service can be slow. Not really an issue with us as the music is so good that we are happy to take our time getting drinks and food but once in awhile it is more noticeable. Everyone is really nice but sometimes maybe not enough staff? Anyway great happy hour and really nice patio! We love this place so much we even had our wedding dinner here. They were fantastic to work with and the food and wine was perfect! Great prices too! Don't go expecting to eat in 20 minutes. If you love live music like we do, you'll probably not even notice any delays. :)
Can they croon? You betcha! Great food, even better drinks, and the music is always exceptional. Swing by for happy hour or an evening meal and you WILL have a great time!
Drinks did not come for another 20 minutes. Again we had to ask to put in a food order. 4 salmon and 1 walleye , nothing fancy, food did not arrive until 8:25-nearly 50 minutes after our order. The walleye was listed as broiled and when it came, it was poached or steamed. When asked, he tried to insist it was grilled-not even a little bit. 2 lovely pieces of fish ruined. Salmon was overcooked. Food and service was terrible and prices were high for what we actually got. Manager did comp a round of drinks after our long wait at the beginning, but we barely made it to our show nearly 2 hours later. If it wasn't for the amazing show, this would have been a horrible experience. Too bad. This place has a lot of potential.

As a music lover I appreciate having a place to go to hear live music in a comfortable atmosphere. I really love the fact that the music starts earlier in the evening! The caliber of artist is top notch and there is something for everyone from Jazz, to Blues to R and B. The patio at Crooners is a favorite spot to enjoy their delicious seafood boil or French Dip sandwich.
We had tickets to a show (which was fabulous!) And decided to eat there first. Reservations at 7 (show at 9), dining room 1/2 to 2/3rd full, and it took 20 minutes to get a server to even check on us..There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency.by anyone in the entire place. He proceeded to tell us they were down 2 staff and then was leaving and we had to ask for a drink offer-which he seemed put out by.
Great food, great music. All the way from high class steaks to burgers and fries. Keep live music going in the twin cities.
